Crockart commends Stenhouse Primary School on attaining Fairtrade status

It was announced today that Stenhouse Primary School gained Fairtrade School Status. Commenting on the announcement, Mike Crockart, the Liberal Democrat’s Parliamentary Candidate for Edinburgh West, said:
“I’m absolutely delighted for the school. The hard work of parents, teachers and pupils has paid off and it’s great to see them all rewarded with this accolade.
“The Fairtrade School scheme isn’t just about Fairtrade products. It teaches our children about the nature of global trade and encourages an understanding of equality and even-handedness which can only be a good thing.
“Meeting the criteria is not an easy task and today’s confirmation of the status is testament to the dedication of all those involved in the project at Stenhouse. I have certainly been inspired to use more Fairtrade goods and I hope that others will be too.”
