Skateboarders will soon have new facilities in Saughton Park, if the Council’s proposed skateboard park gets the go-ahead. The Council plans to install a range of skate facilities in the space between the existing playpark and Balgreen Road, with lighting and CCTV coverage for safety.
The playpark itself will also be refurbished, to repair the recent vandalism and add more play equipment and a picnic area. “Young people in Stenhouse have been asking for skateboard facilities and safe places to hang out with their friends,” said Cllr Joanna Coleman. “I’m pleased that the Council is planning such a high quality skatepark. It’s important that the Council hears the voices of people who support this facility if it is to go ahead.”
